ACCOUNTANT

Sydney Mazda is a local Import Automotive Dealership that is committed to providing the best customer service experience and to solidify ourselves as a trusted destination for everything automotive for employees and customers.

We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Enter vehicle sales into the Dealer Management System ensuring that sales and all costs are properly recorded for amount and general ledger account.

· Enter supplier invoices for both new and used vehicles ensuring all costs are captured accurately and coded accurately.

· Review vehicle inventory daily to ensure that the accounting costs are identical to the sales costs on unsold vehicles.

· Review daily sales invoices from Parts and Service to ensure correct coding and capture specific information for further review.

· Prepare weekly payroll and ensure that payment amounts are correct as well as ensuring vacation and sick leaves are properly recorded.

· Prepare government remittances for payroll and HST.

· Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and follow up on any discrepancies.

· Assist with the month end close process and collect and verify statistical information.

· Assist to enter/pay regular supplier invoices.

· Collection of customer accounts when necessary.

· Prepare and post adjusting journal entries that result from reconciliations and others as required.

· Assist with year end activities and audits.

· Backup for preparing and delivering the daily bank deposit

Requirements:

· Detail oriented and willing to dig into the details.

· Highly organized with an understanding of the importance of creating an audit trail

· Experience working in an accounting role is required.

· Experience with Excel is required and Word is an asset.

· Hours are 8:30 to 5 Monday to Friday and is in person not remote.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
