310T Mechanic/ Equipment Mechanic

VanDriel Excavating strives to be the contractor of choice through Quality, Excellence and Teamwork in Excavation and Civil construction, and we have open position for 310T Heavy Duty Mechanic in heavy civil and bridge construction on municipal and commercial projects

Job Description

· Maintain and manage a daily record of repairs and services to vehicles and equipment.

· Maintain yearly service requirements for fleet

· Assist and complete daily repairs

· Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the workshop.

· Knowledge in diagnosing electrical systems

· Diagnosing malfunctions and testing passenger vehicles and heavy equipment to determine mechanical issues

· Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing and defective parts

· Cleaning, lubricating and preforming other preventive maintenance work

· Repairing and verifying any emission control systems

· Working with specialized machinery

· Understanding the inner workings of various machines, such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, farming equipment, heavy trucks excavators, and passenger vehicles

· Keep track of work performed with accurate records

· Clean and maintain equipment & tools

· Abide by safety policies and procedures

· Must be willing to work with a positive attitude towards your co-workers and with the companies best interest in mind

· Assist in maintaining a parts inventory

· Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop

· Preform other duties as and when assigned not limited to the above

Requirements

310T, or equivalent experience desired
Heavy Equipment Experience would be an asset
Dependable work attendance
A positive attitude and willingness to work as a part of a team
Experience in the construction industry with a willingness to learn
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Safety minded
Adheres to ethical work habits
Good attitude and willingness to follow directions
Be able to work 40 hours/week as a minimum
Be able to work Saturdays as required
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Use of PPE required.

Salary Range $28.00 to $52.00 per hour
