Job Summary
D & I Wattam is seeking a dependable and motivated General Labourer to support daily operations across active construction sites. This role plays an important part in ensuring work is completed efficiently, with a strong focus on quality and team collaboration.

The successful candidate will support site preparation, assist our skilled operators, and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This is a hands-on role suited for individuals who take pride in their work, demonstrate reliability, and are looking to build practical experience in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:

Basic understanding of construction environments, job site expectations, and general workflow
Familiarity with common construction tools, materials, and equipment
General awareness of safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and hazard recognition
Understanding of the importance of site organization, cleanliness, and efficiency in supporting project timelines

Skills:

Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions when needed
Effective teamwork skills with a willingness to support others and contribute to overall crew success
Basic problem-solving skills to address routine tasks and adapt to changing site conditions
Time management skills with the ability to stay focused and productive throughout the workday

Abilities:

Physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, and performing manual labour
Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong work ethic
Willingness to learn and support team objectives

Experience and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Previous experience in construction, site servicing, excavation, or civil work environments is preferred, but not required
Experience working with or around heavy equipment, grading, trenching, pipe installation, or aggregate materials is considered a strong asset
Familiarity with construction tools and equipment, including hand tools and basic power tools
Experience working outdoors in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions
Understanding of general construction site flow, including material handling, site preparation, and clean-up activities
