Summer Student: Senior Active Living 55+ Assistant
Summer Seasonal Contract
Community Living Kincardine & District (CLKD) is seeking an energetic and community-minded student to join our Senior Active Living 55+ Program for the summer of 2026.
This position will primarily support programs and activities for older adults throughout the Municipality of Kincardine and Township of Huron-Kinloss, with occasional involvement in intergenerational initiatives and our Youth Connections program.

Position Details
- Position: Senior Active Living 55+ Assistant (Summer Student)
- Term: July 6 – August 28, 2026
- Hours: 28 hours per week
- Rate of Pay: $21.00/hour
- Schedule: Flexible; occasional evenings or weekends may be required
Position Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and facilitating recreational, social, educational, and wellness activities for older adults.
- Help organize community events, workshops, outings, and special programs.
- Welcome participants and help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment.
- Assist with activity preparation, set-up, take-down, and distribution of program materials.
- Support participant registration, attendance tracking, and basic administrative tasks.
- Build positive relationships with participants, and community partners.
- Gather participant feedback and assist with program evaluation activities.
- Assist with intergenerational activities and provide occasional support to youth-focused programs and events.
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
- Students must be currently enrolled in secondary school, college, or university, or be within six months of graduation, with an interest in community services, recreation, health promotion, social services, or working with older adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Experience working with seniors, youth, volunteers, or community programs is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
