Full job description

**Job location is in Goderich Ontario, Main office in Owen Sound**

Job description:

**Due to the nature of this position, the shifts are weekends only**

Seasonal Enforcement Officer will conduct foot patrols of assigned areas ensuring compliance with the municipality’s applicable by-laws as they relate to the beaches and parks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct patrols throughout the beach area
Engage in awareness and education discussions with the public to achieve compliance with beach regulations and deter infractions
Assist By-Law Enforcement Officers with investigations and gathering evidence
Outdoors all day in various weather conditions
Extended periods of walking and standing

This position would be great for those currently in, or just graduated from Community Justice or Police Foundations programs, giving you experience in building community connections, de-escalation tactics, issuing Provincial Offence Notices, learning to deal with other authorities such as Ontario Provincial Police, Parks Canada and other Bylaw officers.

Education and Experience

Diploma in Police Foundations or related discipline is an asset but not necessary
Must be 18 years of age
Clean criminal background check
Must be legal to work in Canada
Own or have access to vehicle
Strong customer service skills
Proficient in English communication
Must have G2/G class drivers license

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
