Identifying Resource Needs

Resource Acquisition

Maintaining an internal resource list/database

Actively reaching out to candidates on the internal resource list to determine their availability
Resource Deployment

Providing staff with clear communications/information regarding their work assignments

Matching available resources to project opportunities based on their skills, availability, and project requirements

Coordinating with project managers to ensure resources are efficiently and effectively allocated to projects

Managing resource schedules, ensuring timely deployment and efficient utilization

Maintaining documentation of resource assignments, updates, and changes

Coordinating with HR and hiring teams to facilitate the onboarding process for new resources

Effectively and quickly managing issues/conflicts/ priorities related to the planning, scheduling and dispatching of staff and equipment/resources to support a smooth work flow

Ensuring applicable collective agreement provisions are consistently applied in the technician/client interaction
Resource Promotion and Engagement

Promoting project opportunities to eligible candidates in the internal resource list

Managing communication and feedback between resources and project managers

Encouraging and fostering an engaged and productive resource pool through regular communication and support

Identifying opportunities to improve staff satisfaction and engagement
Reporting and Analysis

Tracking and analyzing resource utilization metrics, including availability, utilization rates, and conflicts

Preparing regular reports and insights to senior management regarding resource availability, allocation, and capacity constraints

Identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in resource management processes

Providing recommendations and suggestions for optimizing resource allocation and utilization

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

An understanding of clients’ technical needs to effectively fulfill service requirements

Knowledge of industry trades associations and industrial trades

Knowledge of the QCC collective agreement to ensure compliance with terms and conditions

Solid interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage a broad range of internal and external contacts

Proficiency in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Proficiency in using scheduling software and other relevant tools

EDUCATION:

Post secondary school diploma in a related field

Minimum of 2 years industry related experience
