We are currently seeking a Finance and Budget Coordinator to support the Grande Prairie Police Service (GPPS), Enforcement Services, and Mobile Outreach operations. This position plays a key role in financial coordination, reporting, and budget planning.
Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with the management team, providing advice and guidance with regards to budgetary items.
- Create financial reports and provide support to implementing changes in department policies and procedures.

Responsible for daily financial transactions, monthly financial reporting to the finance department, and yearly budget preparations.

Collaborate with key stakeholders and finance partners to support accurate financial reporting and forecasting.

Ensuring accurate coding of expenditures.

Processing accounts payable and monthly and quarterly accounts receivables.

Ordering office supplies, equipment and furniture.

Administering petty cash.

Preparing reports regarding expenditures and revenue.

Completing monthly budget reports.

Monitoring contracts and agreements, with outside agencies, to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Conducting research on behalf of the management team.

Tracking of capital project expenditures.

Analyzing of department expenditures.

Making recommendations regarding cost management.

Providing input and support to preparing yearly budgets.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
-
Business Administration Diploma, preferably with a specialization in Accounting, from a recognized educational institute.
- Minimum of two years' experience working in busy office environment, preferably in a financial role.
- Prior experience working with senior level management will be considered an asset.

Experience working with the RCMP.
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- Preference may be given to candidates who currently possess a Police Security Clearance.

The standard workweek consists of an average of 37.5 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
Compensation
Salary range $37.02 - $47.86 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
