Our Community Connections Department is looking for a dedicated Community Connections Manager to join the team.
Position Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Community Connections Manager. This position plays a key role in enhancing community well-being while cultivating partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and internal departments. The manager be responsible for strategic planning, community engagement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster partnerships with over 200 community organizations, regional partners, and sport tourism stakeholders

Serve as a subject matter expert in recreation, community development, and cultural programming

Responsible for public engagement program

Represent the City in public forums, community events, and advisory committees

Responsible for grant funding programs

Contract and agreements management
-
Lead and manage a high-performing team including hiring, coaching, and performance management

Develop and oversee department budgets, forecasts, and capital projects
-
Drive operational efficiencies, policy development, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport, culture, business/public administration, or related field

Minimum 4 years in a leadership/management role in recreation, sport, culture, or non-profit sectors

Strong project management and public relations skills

Experience with stakeholder engagement, grant management, and municipal governance preferred

Proven ability and skill in establishing and maintaining relationships, leading/facilitating meetings with multiple stakeholders

Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions

Ability to seek opportunities, self-driven

Administrative experience including written reports, budget and financial management

Strong business and political acumen
-
Organizational development strategies and approaches
-
Presentation, facilitation, and public speaking experience

IAP2 Certification considered an asset
Hours
The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
Compensation
Salary range of $45.21 to $58.43 as per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
