About TJM Trucking:

TJM Trucking serves a wide variety of oil and gas clients focusing on sand hauling. We also provide transportation fleet services to companies across Canada.

Position Details:

The driver & owner operators will be responsible for taking part in daily pre-trips and assessments prior to starting every job and follow the standard work procedures set in place.

The driver will be responsible for transporting bulk sand to and from different locations while complying with all TDG regulations. The owner-operator will also be responsible for minor maintenance of the unit they are operating.

The driver is responsible for completing required documents including, but not limited to, Daily Driver Logs, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports, Job Hazard Safety Assessments, and Field Tickets.

This is a full-time, permanent position and standard hours of work can vary. The owner-operator may be required to be on an on-call schedule with rotation, with the exception of requested and approved time off.

Job Responsibilities:

Complete all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any job
Operate units in a safe, responsible and professional manner.
Complies with all government legislation as well as internal policies and procedures.
Ensures federal hours of service are adhered to and that logbooks are filled out and certified daily.
Reports all incidents, accidents and/or near misses, or equipment damage as soon as they happen.
Wears all PPE as required, including steel toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hat and mandatory hearing protection.
Completes and submits paperwork as required by dispatch and administration.
Ensures proper load securement during any transportation of goods and materials.
Responsible for transport, loading and offloading of Frac Sand at different locations.
Possibility of doing Night shift work and sleep in truck if needed.
Other job duties as required.

Qualifications:

2 years minimum of professional super B driving experience, preferred experience in hauling sand
Class 1 driver’s license with no previous suspensions or restrictions in the past 5 years
Satisfactory 5-year commercials driver abstract
Acceptable WCB rating
Valid safety certifications including Common Safety Orientation, H2S Alive, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, and First Aid
Valid training for professional driving including Hours of Service, Daily Trip Inspections and Weights and Dimensions
A clear understanding of various tractor trailer units and their operations
Knowledge of chaining up and off-road experience
Must have the ability to work with little supervision
Strong communication skills and work ethic
Able to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs as well as reaching above shoulder height or below the waist if required
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Fluent in English, verbal and written
Own truck and trailer preferred
