Automotive Store Manager, Midland, Ontario
Victory Lube | Full-Time, Permanent | $29–$36/hour plus bonus & benefits
Victory Lube is a family-owned automotive service business operating across Ontario since 1993. We are hiring an experienced Store Manager to run the day-to-day operations of our Midland Service Center and lead its team.
This is a hands-on leadership role accountable for the store's people, performance, and customer experience, with support from our Operations and Head Office teams. We expect applicants to bring direct, prior experience managing the following in a fast-lube or automotive service environment:
Operations
- Running daily operations of a service centre to company standards, including opening and closing, staffing all bay positions, and keeping the shop running through peak volume.
- Cash handling, reconciliation, and timely bank deposits.
- Daily sales and operational reporting to head office.
- Maintaining store appearance, inside and out, to brand standards.
Team leadership
- Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining a team of 5 in addition to the Manager.
- Managing scheduling, payroll, hours, and scheduling through a POS or computer-based system.
- Running monthly crew and safety meetings, and developing staff for advancement.
Sales & financial performance
- Owning the store's financial performance against its business plan.
- Managing daily and monthly KPIs, including car count, bay time, ticket average, and premium percent.
- Driving sales through manufacturer and mileage-based service recommendations and consultative customer interaction.
- Managing labour productivity, cost of goods sold, and discount/coupon control.
Inventory
- End-to-end inventory management: creating and receiving orders, store-to-store transfers, daily assessments, and monthly counts.
- Controlling shrink, loss, and damage, and vendor relationships.
Customer experience
- Leading customer service across the shop and resolving complaints per company policy.
- Building customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
Health, safety & compliance
- Providing safety and environmental leadership, including OHSA, WHMIS/SDS, lockout-tagout, and spill-response procedures.
- Reporting incidents within required timeframes and ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable provincial and federal regulations.
Hands-on capability
- Able to perform, and train others on, preventive maintenance including oil and filter changes, fluid service, and related work, and to lead from the floor when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a fast-lube or automotive repair facility. This is a required qualification.
- Proven ability to coach a team and deliver business results in a fast-paced shop.
- Strong written and verbal English with customers and team.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Legally permitted to work in Canada and able to reliably commute to Midland.
