Part-Time AP Subject Tutor (Contract Position)

Laureate College is an accredited Advanced Placement (AP) school located on a beautiful 50-acre campus in Burlington, Ontario. We are committed to developing future-ready global citizens through academic excellence, personalized learning, leadership development, and university preparation.
As our AP program continues to expand, we are seeking experienced and passionate Part-Time AP Tutors to support students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses and preparing for AP examinations.
Available AP Subjects
We are currently recruiting tutors for the following subjects:
- AP Microeconomics
- AP Macroeconomics
- AP Psychology
- AP Calculus (AB and/or BC)
- AP English Language and Composition
Applicants may specialize in one or multiple subject areas.
Position Type
- Part-Time Contract
- In-Person, Online, or Hybrid
- Flexible Scheduling (Evenings, Weekends, After School)
- June 2026 – June 2027 (with possibility of renewal)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and/or one-on-one tutoring for AP students.
- Deliver subject-specific instruction aligned with the College Board AP curriculum.
- Prepare students for AP examinations through content review, practice tests, and exam strategies.
- Support students in developing higher-order thinking, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and school administration when required.
- Collaborate with school staff to support student academic success.
- Create engaging learning experiences that motivate students to achieve their academic goals.
Qualifications
Required
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Strong academic background in the subject area being taught.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience tutoring or teaching high school students.
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible schedules.
Preferred
- Teaching certification (Ontario OCT or equivalent).
- Previous experience teaching AP courses.
- Familiarity with College Board AP curriculum and examination requirements.
- Experience as an AP Exam Reader, AP Instructor, university lecturer, or senior high school teacher.
- Experience supporting students applying to competitive university programs.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
Typical range:
- $50 – $120 per hour
- Higher rates may be considered for:
- Certified AP teachers
- AP Exam Readers
- University professors or lecturers
- Subject specialists with extensive AP experience
