Location: Halifax, NS (1741 Brunswick St) or Remote

Company: Current Studios Inc.

Contract Type: Temporary Contract (Project-Based)

Duration: 1-2 months

Current Studios is looking for a passionate 3D Character Animator to join the team in our Halifax office or to work from home.

You’re a passionate animator, able to work well in a fast-paced, ultra- agile team environment. You’re excited by the challenge of building content for cutting-edge interactive experiences. You’re self-motivated, good at problem-solving and eager to learn new skill-sets and methods required to expand your knowledge

3D Character Animator– Key Responsibilities

Strong 3D character animation fundamentals, with a good eye for timing, weight, posing, body mechanics, and performance.
Experience animating characters from reference.
Experience cleaning, editing, and polishing motion-capture animation.
Understanding of mocap retargeting and adapting captured performances to different character rigs and proportions.
Ability to correct foot sliding, contact issues, jitter, intersections, unnatural poses, and other mocap artifacts.
Ability to enhance mocap with hand-keyed animation, improving poses, gestures, weight, timing, and character performance.
Experience blending animations and creating smooth, believable transitions between motion clips.
Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or equivalent character-animation software.
Experience preparing animation for real-time engines is an added bonus.
