Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead our Indian culinary team in HALIFAX in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Candidates with restaurant management experience and a background in hospitality are highly encouraged to apply.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR TWO CANDIDATES AND SALARY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE GIVEN RANGE .

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
Oversee all aspects of food handling, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards
Experince in tandoori items
Develop and implement menu items, ensuring variety and consistency
Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service during serving hours
Train new team members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and culinary techniques
Monitor kitchen operations for efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to health standards
Assist in restaurant management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining a positive work environment

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food service environment
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
Excellent team management and leadership abilities
Knowledge of restaurant management practices and hospitality standards
Expertise in food handling, safety regulations, and sanitation procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Exceptional communication skills for effective team coordination
Experience with menu development and culinary innovation
Familiarity with the food industry trends and customer preferences
