About Us

Brave Driver Training is proud to be the 2026 Consumer Choice Award Winner for Best Driving School in Halifax! With over 10 years of experience, our focus is on comprehensive education that empowers new drivers for a lifetime of safety. We are expanding our team and looking for patient, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals to join us.

The Role

As a Driving Instructor, you will make a tangible difference in your community by helping new drivers develop the skills and confidence to pass their road test and navigate Nova Scotia roads safely. Hours range from part-time to full-time, varying by season and demand.

Who We Are Looking For (Two Paths):

Licensed Instructors: You already hold a valid Nova Scotia Driving Instructor's license. Whether you are relocating, transferring, or looking to get reinstated, we can help streamline the process.
Career Changers (We Will Train You!): You don’t have an instructor license yet, but you have a strong passion for teaching, coaching, or mentoring. You must be willing to complete the mandatory 2-week (80-hour) Nova Scotia-approved Driving Instructor Training program.

Our Investment in You:

We will fully reimburse the cost of the training program! The reimbursement is paid out as an additional monthly stipend added to your regular pay throughout your 2-year contract.

What We Provide:

Company Vehicle: Fully equipped, insured company car for instruction, plus a gas allowance.
Competitive Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, plus a monthly training stipend for unlicensed trainees during their contract.

Flexibility: Flexible scheduling and commuter benefits.

Requirements:

Driving Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clean driving experience (Class 5 license). No speeding tickets or major violations.
Clearances: Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
Personality: Patient, calm, kind, and excellent under pressure. Strong communication skills in English (multiple languages are a major asset!).
Commitment: Willingness to commit to a 2-year contract.
