Position Title: Counter Attendant

Location: Sweet & Salty, NS (waterfront)

Job type: Full-time, Seasonal

Salary Range: $16.75- $18.00(commensurate with experience)

Job Description

The Counter Attendant at Sweet & Salty is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service in a high-volume, guest-facing kiosk environment. This role focuses on serving soft serve ice cream and menu items with consistency, maintaining cleanliness, and creating a positive, welcoming guest experience.

Counter Attendants are the front line of the brand — setting the tone with energy, efficiency, and attention to detail during busy service periods.

Resp.

Greet guests in a friendly and engaging manner
Take orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system
Prepare and serve menu items (soft serve, cones, cups, toppings, specialty items) to standard
Maintain speed of service during peak periods while ensuring quality and accuracy
Handle guest questions and basic concerns professionally, escalating when needed
Create a fun, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Sweet & Salty brand

About You

1–3+ years experience in hospitality, food service, café, or quick-service operations.
Experience in ice cream, dessert, kiosk, or high-volume venues is an asset.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Indoor seasonal kiosk environment.
Extended periods standing and walking.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be comfortable working during varying weather conditions.
Company uniforms must be worn during work hours.
