Stylist + Social Media Coordinator – Full Time
Foreign Affair is seeking a hardworking, creative, and highly motivated Stylist + Social Media Coordinator to join our team full-time. This role is primarily focused on sales, client experience, and styling on the selling floor, while also supporting the boutique’s social media presence through content creation, photography, video, and brand storytelling.
The ideal candidate is fashion-focused, organized, fast-paced, and confident working in both a client-facing retail environment and a creative content role. This position requires strong selling skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic boutique environment while helping maintain the elevated aesthetic and experience that defines Foreign Affair.
Selling:
- Maintain a fast-paced, hardworking approach to support the team and ensure strong performance on the selling floor
- Actively improve client engagement and selling ability to maximize sales opportunities
- Work collaboratively with the team to support store goals and overall client experience
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing an elevated and personalized shopping experience for clients
- Assist with styling and product recommendations
- Floor awareness to ensure customers are being serviced, team members are supported, and the store remains secure, including monitoring the entrance to ensure the door is promptly attended to when customers arrive
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
Merchandising:
- Merchandise the store effectively, introducing fresh and innovative visual presentations to elevate the boutique experience
- Create and maintain visually appealing product displays throughout the boutique while contributing fresh merchandising ideas to continually elevate the store presentation.
- Ensure the sales floor remains organized, well-maintained, and visually polished
- Ensure new product is steamed, tagged, and merchandised promptly
- Replenish inventory on the sales floor as needed
- Work quickly and efficiently with Meghan during Monday remerchandising to ensure smooth execution and a well-presented sales floor
Store Operations & Organization:
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the storefront, fitting rooms, stockroom, staff area, and bathroom
- Monitor and restock store supplies as needed, including shopping bags, garment bags, tissue, hangers, and tagging materials
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized sales counter, including clearing security tags, clearing hangers, and keeping drawers tidy
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Remove sold items from Shopify inventory as needed to maintain accurate online inventory levels
Instagram/Facebook:
- Post a minimum of three times per week on Instagram and Facebook
- Post a minimum of two Instagram Stories per week featuring product, store, team, or lifestyle content aligned with the brand aesthetic
- Work efficiently and with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail and brand standards
Key responsibilities for Instagram/Facebook:
· Photograph and film new arrivals, styled looks, and featured products for use across social media, marketing, and promotional content
· Capture behind-the-scenes content featuring the team, daily boutique life, events, new arrivals, and key focus products.
· Prepare and organize a content plan prior to each shoot to ensure time is used efficiently and productively, while remaining flexible and able to pivot quickly based on in-store activity, weather, or changing shoot conditions.
· During model shoots, prioritize spending more time creating elevated street-style content with models outside the store than producing in-store content, while still capturing select in-store imagery with models
· Photograph and film the boutique interior, displays, merchandising updates, and seasonal floor changes to showcase the in-store experience
· Edit photos and videos for Instagram stories, reels, and feed posts
· Write engaging captions aligned with the boutique’s tone and branding
· Create Instagram and Facebook content using strategic keywords and captions to support brand visibility, engagement, and discoverability
· Monitor social engagement and respond to comments or messages when needed
· Collaborate with the sales team and management to highlight key products, trends, and new collections
· Stay current on Instagram trends, audio, and content strategies relevant to fashion retail
· Create engaging Instagram/Facebook Stories to announce store closures, celebrate holidays, and promote upcoming promotions
Shopify – as needed:
- Be able to independently upload new products onto Shopify during busy periods as needed
- Ensure product details, pricing, imagery, sizing, and collection placement are accurate and aligned with the boutique’s standards
- Update Shopify product pricing during sale periods to ensure online pricing accurately reflects in-store markdowns and promotional adjustments
Qualifications:
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, ideally in fashion or boutique retail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Passion for fashion, styling, and current trends
- Comfortable selling and building relationships with clients
- Experience creating content for Instagram and Facebook
- Ability to capture photos, videos, stories, and reels using a smartphone
- Basic understanding of social media engagement, captions, and posting consistency
- Creative eye for styling, merchandising, and visual presentation
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Experience with Shopify, inventory systems, or POS systems is an asset
Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
