Our client, the Bruno Group of Companies is hiring a Vice President to join the Bruno Builders team based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic, results-driven leader to shape the future of a thriving construction business. As Vice President, you will drive strategic growth, optimize operations, and lead high-performing teams to elevate both project execution and profitability.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the COO, you will develop and execute business strategies that expand market presence to drive revenue growth. Your leadership will be pivotal in securing new projects, strengthening client relationships, and optimizing project delivery to maximize profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

Spearheading business development efforts to grow market share and secure high-value projects.

Refining project management systems to enhance efficiency, budget control, and execution timelines.

Overseeing preconstruction, bid preparation, and contractor selection to ensure seamless project launches.

Leading and mentoring teams to enhance performance, foster collaboration, and drive accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among project teams.

Implementing financial strategies that improve margins and support sustainable business growth.

Representing the company in key industry events, contract negotiations, and stakeholder meetings.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial construction leader with 10+ years of experience in a general contracting environment, demonstrating a proven ability to drive business growth. You have a strong background in construction methodologies, materials, regulations, and safety standards, coupled with deep financial acumen and expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and improving project profitability. A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management is preferred, though extensive industry experience will also be considered. PMP certification is an asset.

You are a skilled negotiator and relationship builder, capable of managing complex projects, leading diverse teams, and driving operational efficiencies. Above all, you are a proactive leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for strategic expansion, and the ability to inspire high performance at every level of the organization.
