We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Director of Sales to represent the hotel's services and facilities to potential clients and customers, playing a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving financial success. Your Role will include the following;
Duties and Responsibilities
· The primary responsibilities of this position are to lead the sales team at your hotel and deploy business strategies that are creative, dynamic and impactful towards achieving your hotels annual budget and crossover targets.
- Establish client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded. Actively prospect and qualify new business.
- Achieve goals as assigned.
- Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce and/or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders.
- Monitor and handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
- Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertain clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines.
- Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Produce monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility.
- Attend and represent hotel at trade shows and conventions and/or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.
- Monitor and adjust hotel guestroom pricing via IHG N2 Pricing platform, as required
- Actively participate in IHG Commercial calls, as scheduled, and immediately action any assigned strategic tasks.
- Attend the Chamber of Commerce Business after five events
- Cross selling Vrancor properties
- Postings on Social Networking; LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
- Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel departments.
- Interact with outside contacts:
- Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction
- Airlines, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, ad agencies, etc. – to ensure repeat business, follow up on events, and generate new business
- Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups)
- Develop and implementing sales plans and participate in the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May serve as “Manager on Duty” as required.

Qualifications / Requirements
As this role carries direct responsibility for top line revenue, the successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently to drive performance, while providing strong leadership and guidance to other team members in order to maximize results.
All candidates must have a minimum 2+years’ experience in a senior sales management role, with demonstrated communication skills and the ability to multi-task with strict deadlines. High proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required, along with savvy online & social media skills. Specific background within the Hospitality Industry and proficiency with Opera PMS are strong assets. This role requires that you must be able to travel to attend workshops, trade shows, brand meetings, etc.
You may be required at times to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as well as support other departments of the hotel such as Front Office, and Food & Beverage as required. Manager on Duty responsibilities, at times, will also be required.
