The Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University is accepting applications for one full-time faculty member in the contractually limited appointment category at the Assistant Professor rank to conduct research in areas including evidence-based medicine, with a particular focus on pharmacoepidemiology, as well as the development and evaluation of clinical practice guidelines in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching and providing mentorship to graduate students in the Department’s educational programs. This is a three-year appointment, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027.

A PhD in health research methodology or a related field
A research portfolio in evidence-based medicine with a focus on clinical pharmacology
Experience and skills in coordinating large projects and interdisciplinary research teams
Demonstrated excellence in teaching in a range of learning contexts including online synchronous and asynchronous structures, and in-person classroom.
Ability to contribute to research, evaluation, and scholarship, including prior success in obtaining research funding
Strong knowledge translation skills and demonstrated experience leading clinical practice guidelines and authoring systematic reviews
Experience supervising and mentoring graduate students is considered an asset
Strong communication skills are required
