The starting hourly pay rate for the role is $34.65 based on experience and qualifications. Plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.
The Role and Candidate:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Bulk Hauling, the scope of this position involves the transportation of liquid goods from plants and/or farms to other facilities in a safe and timely manner. Other responsibilities include loading and offloading trucks and other duties as assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks and equipment as per standard operating procedures
- Complete log books and run sheets accurately and thoroughly each day
- Weigh volume of milk and record in log
- Grade milk, take, store and deliver samples
- Provide exemplary customer service to all customers
- Assist in loading and offloading of trucks if needed
- Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
- Attend prescribed courses and training as required
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- "AZ" classification: “A” license, "Z" Airbrake Endorsement
- Valid Milk Grader’s License (training to be provided)
- Minimum high school diploma and/or related CPG or food warehousing experience
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Ability to work as an individual and in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
- Accurate when working with calculations
- Clean driving abstract
Physical Demands:
- Sitting for extended length of time
- Standing and walking for considerable length of time
- Moderate lifting of materials up to maximum 25kgs
Working Environment:
- Regular exposure to long duration of driving and frequent interruptions. Occasional exposure to dust and extreme temperatures
Shift Details: 8-13 hour shifts totaling 40-60 hrs weekly (approx.) Hours worked may vary dependent on volumes, routes and/or traffic and weather conditions
