About the Program
Landing Success is a summer program for grade 8, 9 and 10 Indigenous students.
Students in the program participate in:

Outdoor, land-based learning
-
Activities that build confidence and skills
-
A reach-ahead secondary school credit
As a Student Coordinator, you will act as a mentor and role model, sharing your own high school experiences and helping students feel prepared for secondary school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the successful transition of Grade 8 Indigenous students into Grade 9 through summer activities and programming

Provide insight into secondary academic expectations, programming, and extracurricular activities

Assist in the planning for and implementation of a summer transition program

Model and support the acquisition of the learning skills needed to be successful at secondary school

Perform other duties as assigned
Position Details
Dates: June 29 to July 31, 2026
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Occasional additional hours may be required for travel and field trips

Pay:

$20.00/hour (includes vacation and holiday pay)

Cooperative education credits
Reports to: Summer Programming Administrator
Who Can Apply
Required Qualifications (must have):
- Currently enrolled as a Grade 11 or 12 student with Bluewater District School Board
- Between 15 and 24 years old (up to 29 for persons with disabilities)
Eligibility Requirements (employment conditions):
- Must live in Ontario during employment
- Legally able to work in Canada (Social Insurance Number required)
- Able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Assets:
- Understanding of Anishinaabe traditions and community

Strong communication skills

Organized and reliable

Experience mentoring, coaching, and working with younger students
