Full job description

We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our team as a Food Service Supervisor for Mamattuk, located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily food service operations, supporting staff, and ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.

Food Service Supervisor Key Roles:

Supervise and support food service staff during daily operations
Ensure excellent customer service and a positive guest experience
Coordinate staff schedules and assist with training and onboarding
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Assist with inventory control, ordering, and waste reduction
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
Work closely with management to support operational goals

Food Service Supervisor Competencies:

Passion for Guest Experience: provides exemplary guest service and builds relationships with guests to set the standard for employees.
Time Management: effectively manages time to achieve business goals while satisfying the guest service needs.
Communication: Provides clean, open, and consistent communication with the guests and staff. Actively listens and receives feedback.
Problem solving: Responsive, calm, creative and flexible to ensure operations continue to run smoothly in the face of the unexpected.
Consistency: Approachable by both employees and guests. Actions and reactions are consistent to create a safe and comfortable environment for employees and guests.
Organization: can effectively move between tasks and prioritize appropriately between execution, operational tasks, and cleanliness

Education and Job Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen.
Culinary education is an asset but not required.
WHMIS and Food Safety certified (SkillspassNL recommended).
Physically able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
