Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our sports store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and excellent communication abilities. This role requires strategic planning, team management, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service to ensure the store's success and growth. The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing staff, maintaining operational standards, and implementing marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.

Duties

Develop and execute business strategies to achieve sales targets and operational goals.
Oversee daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and POS systems.
Lead, supervise, and motivate staff through effective training & development programs.
Manage recruiting efforts to attract qualified personnel; conduct interviews and onboarding processes.
Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Implement pricing strategies and oversee store merchandising to optimize product presentation.
Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Coordinate marketing activities to promote store offerings and increase foot traffic.
Supervise cash handling procedures, cashiering functions, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Monitor store performance metrics; analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized store environment.

Skills

Strong leadership with proven supervising experience in retail or store management.
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Proficiency in negotiation, sales management, marketing, and merchandising strategies.
Experience with POS systems, purchasing, pricing strategies, and cash handling procedures.
Skilled in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff.
Sound organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Competence in budgeting, bookkeeping, administrative tasks, and math skills for financial oversight.
Customer service excellence with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop strategic plans for sales growth while managing day-to-day operations efficiently.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
