About the Role
Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is looking for enthusiastic, guest-focused Banquet Server to help deliver exceptional experiences at meetings, conferences, weddings, receptions, banquets, and special events. In this role, you will support the successful execution of events through event setup, food and beverage service, guest interaction, and event breakdown. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will play an important role in creating memorable experiences while ensuring banquet functions are delivered to the highest standards of hospitality and service. What You’ll Do

Support the successful execution of banquet events through event setup, service, and breakdown activities.

Provide professional and attentive food and beverage service during meetings, conferences, breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, weddings, and special events.

Greet guests, assist with guest flow, and provide a welcoming and engaging experience throughout each event.

Maintain a thorough understanding of event details, banquet menus, and service expectations to ensure seamless event execution.

Assist with the setup of banquet rooms, buffets, service stations, tables, linens, silverware, glassware, and other event requirements.

Monitor banquet spaces, buffets, and service stations to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness throughout events.

Replenish food, beverages, and event supplies as required to maintain service standards.

Clear tables, pre-bus guest areas, and transport dishes and service items according to hotel procedures.

Complete assigned side duties and assist with event clean-up and room resets following functions.

Support fellow team members and other hotel departments to ensure the successful execution of all events.

Deliver exceptional guest service by responding promptly to guest requests and helping create memorable event experiences.
What We’re Looking For

Previous banquet, restaurant, food and beverage, or hospitality experience preferred.

Serving It Right certification required.

FOODSAFE certification required or willingness to obtain.

SuperHost certification is considered an asset.

Positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a fast-paced banquet and event environment with varying hours, noise levels, and event demands. The successful candidate must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and performing physical tasks throughout a shift.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of banquet equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.

Ability to safely carry and balance serving trays throughout service.

Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Occasional stair use and movement throughout banquet and event spaces.
