The Neskonlith Indian Band is currently seeking a full-time Supervisory Administrative Assistant for its Neskonlith Education Centre (NEC-Grades 10-12) located in Neskonlith (Chase), British Columbia. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Director of Education and members of the Educational Department.

Job Description:
Title: Supervisory Administrative Assistant, Neskonlith Education Centre
Position: Administrative Assistant to the Principal and NEC
Location: Neskonlith Indian Band IR#2
Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Administrative Support
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Principal, the Supervisory Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the principal and contribute to the effective functioning of the Neskonlith Education Centre (school).
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
· Proficient computer skills including data entry, records management, and word processing.
· Bookkeeping experience.
· Minimum of three (3) years' experience in general office administration.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and problem-solve proactively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Exercise sound judgment and collaborate effectively with staff at all levels and members of the public.
· Prepare meeting minutes, vendor contracts, reports, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents as required.
· Manage confidential correspondence and sensitive information appropriately.
· Oversee financial administration of the office, including purchasing, billing, timesheet processing, and invoice payment.
· Perform dictation, photocopying, and prepare letters and memos as requested.
· Direct inquiries to appropriate personnel as necessary.
· Coordinate registration, travel arrangements, and complete travel expense documentation.
· Answer incoming telephone calls, screen requests, and respond to information inquiries.
· Receive, open, and distribute mail in a timely manner.
· Follow up on matters directed to and from the Director of Education and/or Principal.
· Order and maintain office supplies, including monthly staff room provisions.
· Maintain organized office files and support various teams including the Nominal Role leads, NEC, and ALC as required.
· Manage appointment scheduling and assist with arrangements for conferences and interviews.
· Arrange for equipment maintenance and service calls as needed.
· Organize and schedule staff meetings as directed.
· Provide additional support and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Education.
· Ability to work independently and as a team member. Initiative to set priorities and identify student specific plans of action.
· Ability to work effectively with committees, the administrative team, school personnel, parents, students, and community members. Knowledge of regulations for education such as, marking and course requirements.
· Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from staff and the public. Maintains confidentiality and integrity, showing respect for staff, parents, and the public.
· Ability to adapt to and learn new software. High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning.
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills. Attention to detail in all areas of work.
· Valid BC Drivers License and Drivers Abstract clearance. Criminal record check, and vulnerable sector clearance.
Position Details:
This position is based on Neskonlith Indian Band, Chase BC (located between Kamloops and Salmon Arm).
Neskonlith Education Centre (George Emanuel Institute).
Grades: 10-12 & Adult Learning Centre
Education Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: $32.71 -$33.46 and based on qualifications and experience, plus competitive benefits package (details to be discussed with successful candidate).
Start date: Monday, September 1, 2026
Teacher Reports To: Principal
Work Conditions:
Interacts with staff, students, visitors, and government agencies/personnel. Travel may be required. Ability to attend and conduct presentations. Manual dexterity is required to use a desktop computer and peripherals. Overtime may be required. Lifting or moving up to 10 lbs may be required.
