Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to lead our fast-paced restaurant team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Shift Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure food safety and quality standards are met, and motivate staff to perform at their best. This role offers an opportunity to grow within the restaurant industry while maintaining a focus on team management, food preparation, and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
Lead and motivate team members, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to foster a positive work environment.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards and food safety compliance.
Manage cash handling and POS transactions accurately using Micros POS systems.
Establish methods to meet work schedules
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
Hire food service staff
Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
Prepare budget and cost estimates
Address customers' complaints or concerns
Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
Prepare and submit reports
Supervise and check assembly of trays
Establish work schedules

Qualifications

Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, ideally with supervising or team management responsibilities.
Knowledge of pizza preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; experience with cash handling is preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
Experience in interviewing and onboarding new employees is a plus.
Background in hospitality or hotel industry is advantageous but not required.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable.
