What You’ll Do: • Assist with daily personal and palliative care.

What You Bring
- Community and School Support Worker, Resident Care Aide, or Home Support Worker Certificate
- One (1) year of recent related experience working with seniors with developmental diverse abilities
- Or a combination of education, training, and experience.

Other Musts
- Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License
(Or ability to obtain within probation – reimbursement available) + safe driving record

- TB Test (clear of tuberculosis)
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
- Unionized position with a 1.85% union dues deduction
- Physical abilities to provide individuals with personal care and recreational activities indoors and outdoors. Including supporting individuals in wheelchairs, and walkers, carrying, lifting, transferring, pushing, pulling, bending, assisting clients safely in and out of bed, and bath, and using lifts, and other health equipment appropriately.
- The following training is required and provided to the successful candidate free of charge. Existing certification is an asset: First Aid, Mandt, SafeTalk, Medication Management, Privacy and Information Sharing, WHMIS, Safe Food Handling, Abuse and Neglect Awareness training, Anti-Bullying and Harassment.

STATUS: Full-Time
HOURS of WORK: 37.4 hours per week on average
SCHEDULE:
Position 1: 4 days on 2 days off rotation - 7am to 3pm & 8am to 4pm
Position 2: 4 days on 2 days off rotation - 8am to 4pm
REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator, Desmond House
COMPENSATION: $25.95 - $29.76 per hour (Grid 10 as per collective agreement; compensation subject to recently ratified wage increases not yet implemented)
