Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead cook to oversee daily operations within our food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food safety, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Lead cook will serve as a key point of contact for staff and customers alike, guiding the team to deliver quality meals efficiently and professionally.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate food service activities, ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery
Oversee food handling procedures to comply with safety and sanitation standards
Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed, setting an example for team members
Train new staff on kitchen protocols, safety practices, and customer service expectations
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to maintain smooth operations
Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and restaurant policies
Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly to uphold high service standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area throughout shifts
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient workflow

Skills

Proven experience in food service, restaurant operations, or related roles with a focus on meal preparation and cooking
Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards in the food industry
Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and guide a team effectively
Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with staff and interacting with customers
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and restaurant best practices
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
