About the Position
Within the Comminution Department, you will prepare client samples and perform test work.
Specific Responsibilities:
Capable of sieving, crushing, homogenizing and splitting samples utilizing ro-tap, Gilson screen, jaw crusher and cone crusher;
Able to complete test work using the following equipment: Bond rod mills and ball mills;
Able to complete supervised test work using the following equipment: drop weight tester, abrasion tester, bond low impact test, and point loader tester;
Maintain own production log. ie timecards;
General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
Familiar with all safety rules for the lab and sample prep;
Able to handle compositing instructions;
Basic routine inspection of equipment;
Basic understanding of the electronic computer sample database;
Able to perform screen analysis;
Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good communication and hand coordination skills are required;
Good use of English language;
Good organizational skills;
Basic computer skills – Microsoft Excel;
Forklift license/experience preferred.
Required Qualifications:
Physical Demands:
Require some lifting of up to 50 pounds;
Ability to sit and/or stand for 8 hours per shift;
Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks;
Environment can be dusty and warm;
Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.
Our Benefits Include
An estimated hourly pay of $23.04 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
