Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our meals are prepared efficiently and meet the high standards of our restaurant.

Key Objectives:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and cooking instructions.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Help with inventory by reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setup and breakdown of the kitchen at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each use to ensure a safe and hygienic cooking environment.
- Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks such as cleaning kitchen hoods, vents, ovens, refrigerators, and other large kitchen appliances
Schedule:
- Typically 5-hour shifts, up to 12-20 hours per week.
- Day or Evening shifts, 3-4 days a week, usually 12pm - 5pm or 5pm-1am but may vary
- Hours may increase in summer.
- Weekends

Education/experience:
MUST have worked in a restaurant or fast food setting.
Understand operations of kitchen and front of house through previous jobs
Experience of 3 months minimum is an asset
Knowledge and understanding of Indian cuisine is an asset, but not required
Physical Requirements:
Standing and walking for lengthening periods.
Is physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment and safely lifts heavy loads up to 22kg (50lbs).
