We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide quality care for children in a private household. Responsibilities
As our Home Child Care Provider, you will:
- Provide attentive daily care and supervision for children.
- Create a safe, healthy, and stimulating home environment.
- Plan and organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
- Change diapers and assist with toilet training as required.
- Support children's personal hygiene and daily routines.
- Encourage positive social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Perform light housekeeping related to the children's care, including tidying play areas, laundry, and meal clean-up.
- Monitor children's well-being and communicate any concerns with parents.
- Follow parents' instructions regarding routines, discipline, and childcare practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Secondary (high school) diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of childcare experience in a home, daycare, or similar setting.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Strong understanding of child safety and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Experience caring for children with autism or other developmental or learning disabilities.
- Experience working with children of different ages.
- Knowledge of inclusive childcare practices.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
