We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at our busy corporate office located near the Ottawa Train Yards. This is a full-time, in-office position that plays a key role in supporting our accounting operations and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accounting Department, your responsibilities will include:

Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently.
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for major supplier payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain accounting records and databases through accurate data entry.
Prepare and process client credit card payments.
Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal staff via phone, email, and in person.
Assist with month-end reporting, including WIP and sales summaries.
Support the accounting team with administrative duties and other related tasks as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or accounting support role.
Experience with Sage 300 accounting software is considered a strong asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
