BGC Okanagan is hiring a Child Care Worker (PAL) for our Summerland Club!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for caring, nurturing, supervision and safety of children (6 – 12 years old).
- Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
- Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.
- Recruits, selects, dismisses, orients, trains, monitors and provides support to program volunteers.
- Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.
- Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
- Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.
- Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, program standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met
- Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
Qualifications:
- A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
- Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards)
- Current First Aid Certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)
- Class 4 Driver’s Licence or willingness to obtain
- Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check

Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour
