At Creative Roots Landscaping, we build and maintain some of the Okanagan's finest residential landscapes. Every day, our crews rely on dependable trucks, trailers and equipment to deliver exceptional work for our clients.
We're looking for an experienced Fleet & Equipment Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship and understands that well-maintained equipment keeps people safe, productive, and successful.
This isn't simply a mechanic position.
It's an opportunity to become the next caretaker of a diverse fleet while working alongside our long-time Senior Mechanic, Cliff, who has spent decades building and maintaining our equipment. As Cliff begins transitioning toward retirement, we're looking for someone who wants to learn from his experience and help shape the future of our shop.
Cliff is a certified Journeyman who can sign off apprenticeship hours, making this a rare opportunity for an Apprentice or developing mechanic to learn from an experienced mentor while building a long-term career.

What You'll Work On
You'll help maintain a diverse fleet that includes:
- Fleet pickup trucks
- Medium and heavy-duty trucks
- Equipment trailers (open utility, enclosed cargo, flat deck and dump trailers)
- Excavators
- Skid steers
- Compact construction equipment
- Hydraulic systems
Every day brings something different.
Your Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues
- Repairing fleet trucks, trailers and construction equipment
- Performing brake, steering, suspension and drivetrain repairs
- Troubleshooting breakdowns quickly and effectively
- Inspecting trailers and fleet equipment to ensure safe operation
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records
- Identifying potential issues before they become costly failures
- Welding and fabrication when required (an asset, not a requirement)
- Helping keep our crews productive by minimizing equipment downtime

We're looking for someone who:

Qualifications
We're interested in people with experience maintaining fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
Ideal candidates may be:
- Journeyperson Commercial Transport Mechanic
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
- Registered Apprentice
- Experienced Fleet Mechanic
- Experienced Equipment Mechanic
You should also have:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with diesel and gasoline engines
- Experience working with hydraulic systems
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
The following would be considered assets:
- Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's Licence
- Welding and fabrication experience
- CVIP inspection certification (if applicable)

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Licence (required)
