Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and person-centred Music Therapist to join our growing team in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time subcontractor position offering the flexibility of independent practice alongside the support and collaboration of a team environment.
The successful candidate will provide individual and group music therapy services to clients of varying ages, abilities, and backgrounds while supporting emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well-being through meaningful therapeutic experiences.
Full time opportunities are available, with weekday scheduling Monday through Friday.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution
- Certified Music Therapist (MTA) in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT), or eligible for certification (Preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
- Valid BC driver’s license and reliable transportation is required
- Passionate about working with diverse populations including children, youth, adults, seniors, neurodivergent individuals, and individuals seeking mental health support
- Experience working with diverse populations including: Adults with developmental disabilities, children with ASD and complex medical conditions, mental health, alzheimer's and dementia.
- Ability to assess and implement developmentally appropriate therapy programming for groups and individual clients
- Good collaboration and communication skills to work in an interdisciplinary team with and run multidisciplinary groups
- Communicates effectively in person and via writing and maintains professional relationships with clients and staff
- Strong music proficiency in voice and instruments; guitar skills preferred
- Strong group leadership skills and ability to establish effective group dynamics
