Job Overview and Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse who is skilled at peripheral IV insertions and administering intravenous (IV) infusions of prescribed medications to patients for maintenance therapy in a private clinic setting. You will be working in the MedInfuse Health - Kelowna Clinic which is co-located with Specialist Physicians. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and is proficient at starting IVs, have a high level of attention to detail, comfortable working with Electronic Medical Records to chart patient information and vitals. The candidate should share our vision of ensuring patients feel respected and well-cared for while receiving treatments in the clinic.
This position will include one to two days per week shift ideally on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (with some flexibility in choice of days) plus additional hours based on patient demand, or can be two or three shorter shifts per week to accommodate a more positive work-life balance.
There is the potential to have flexibility in your schedule, and there are no evenings or holidays.

Collaborating physicians are located in the adjoining office. Patient care and comfort is at the forefront of what we do. The clinics have windows providing natural light and view, a friendly and welcoming environment, with a television and streaming video content, and wifi for clients. This position is ideal for a nurse who is recently retired, working part-time at another private infusion site, or if you are currently working and want to supplement your income with casual flexible shifts in a comfortable environment where there is true work fulfillment.

Responsibilities
- Prepare medications for administration, start peripheral intravenous (IV) infusions, administer medication (IV, IM, and SC), carry out patient monitoring, and provide post-infusion care.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusion treatments and respond appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards and electronically document patient information and vitals
- Exercise good organizational, communication, problem solving, and teaching skills in coordinating, managing and setting up patients for infusions including scheduling/reminding of appointment times for medication administration.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures during all procedures and monitoring clinic supply levels.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by the professional regulatory body and the company
- Maintain documentation and records as required by regulations and follow policies, procedures and processes in place.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and maintain an appropriate level of responsiveness in supporting clients.
Required:
- Qualified registered nurse (RN with current valid provincial registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives)
- Healthcare provider CPR certificate required
- Proficiency and comfort using computer, electronic medical record systems for documentation
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 1 year of regular IV initiation and infusion experience or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills and patient care skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Able to foster good public relations and effective working relationships with the pharmacists, physicians, nurses and support staff
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to speak additional languages an asset
- Previous experience at a private infusion clinic an asset
