Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient part time Cashier/Barista to join our team! The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Previous experience in the service or food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cashiering, and customer service while working in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company standards
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries promptly
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using basic math skills
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling snacks or light menu items
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality
Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with food industry regulations

Skills

Prior experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred
Proficiency with POS systems, especially Square POS, for order entry and cashiering
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and order calculations
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers seamlessly
