Position Overview
WillowGrove Pharmacy & Supplements is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and compassionate Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting day-to-day pharmacy operations, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with prescription preparation and workflow management.
Previous pharmacy or hospital experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum one (1) year of pharmacy or hospital experience preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate
- Formal Pharmacy Assistant training is considered an asset
- Comfortable using computers, pharmacy software, and point-of-sale (till) systems in a fast-paced environment
- (Experience with Kroll pharmacy software and automation systems is considered an asset)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills required to effectively assist patients, process prescriptions, and communicate with healthcare professionals
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for helping people of all ages
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while contributing effectively to a team
- Strong multitasking and time-management abilities
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is requiredKey Responsibilities
- Assist with prescription preparation and assembly in accordance with pharmacy procedures
- Process prescription pick-up and release transactions accurately and efficiently
- Enter and maintain patient information using pharmacy software systems (Kroll experience is considered an asset)
- Receive and process in-person and telephone prescription refill requests
- Assist with compliance packaging and pill pack assembly
- Prepare and receive pharmacy drug orders and maintain inventory levels
- File prescriptions and assist with ordering, stocking, and replenishing pharmacy supplies
- Perform pharmacy maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of workspaces
- Support administrative functions, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and return-to-stock processing
- Provide delivery and transportation services as required
- Adhere to pharmacy policies, procedures, and organizational standards
- Assist with additional pharmacy operations as required
