At Kehoe Marine Construction, we build more than docks, boathouses, and shoreline projects — we build work that becomes part of someone’s waterfront home, their family memories, and their way of life.
We are looking for a Project Manager, Residential to join our team and help lead the successful planning and delivery of residential marine construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong technical construction background, understands how things are built, and also has the organization and communication skills to keep projects moving.
This is not a desk-only role, and it is not a field-only role. It sits right in the middle: working with customers, reviewing drawings, planning the work, coordinating with crews, managing schedules and budgets, solving problems, and making sure each project is delivered to the Kehoe Standard.
About the Role
As our Project Manager, Residential, you will manage assigned residential construction projects from planning through completion. Projects may include boathouses, technically involved dock systems, shoreline-related residential work, and other projects requiring careful planning, drawing review, field coordination, and construction oversight.
You will work closely with customers, field crews, internal staff, suppliers, subcontractors, administration, finance, and management to ensure projects are planned properly, communicated clearly, built safely, and completed efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
· Manage assigned residential construction projects from planning through completion, with a focus on more complex, custom, or non-standard builds.
· Visit active project sites to review progress, assess field conditions, confirm work is being completed in alignment with drawings, contracts, permits, applicable codes, and company standards.
· Develop estimates by reviewing drawings, site conditions, customer requirements, materials, labour, equipment needs, subcontractor pricing, and construction methodology.
· Lead the permitting process, including preparing, submitting, tracking, and following up on permit applications and required approvals.
· Review drawings, site plans, sketches, specifications, measurements, and customer requirements to understand project scope, identify gaps, and support accurate planning.
· Assess site conditions, constructability, sequencing, materials, equipment needs, access constraints, and installation methods before work proceeds.
· Apply strong construction knowledge and technical judgement to troubleshoot project challenges, resolve field issues, and develop practical solutions that support quality, safety, schedule, and budget.
· Work directly with homeowners to address questions, concerns, changes, site challenges, and expectations throughout the project.
· Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets, work plans, documentation, and project files.
· Coordinate with customers, field crews, shop personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, designers, and internal departments to ensure projects are properly planned and executed.
· Ensure permits, approvals, drawings, deposits, materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and project documentation are in place before work begins.
· Monitor project progress, costs, changes, customer requests, payment milestones, and closeout requirements; ensuring clear communication and documentation.
· Balance customer expectations with construction realities, schedule constraints, budget, safety requirements, and Kehoe Marine Construction standards.
· Support safe project planning and execution in alignment with company health and safety standards and COR requirements
Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:
- Can troubleshoot construction issues by reviewing drawings, site conditions, sequencing, materials, and practical field constraints.
- Uses a solutions-focused approach to work through design conflicts, site challenges, customer concerns, and coordination issues.
- Have strong field experience in building construction, marine construction, residential construction, or a related area.
- Understand construction methods, materials, sequencing, drawings, and field execution.
- Can read and interpret drawings, site plans, sketches, specifications, and project documentation.
- Have experience coordinating with field crews, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Have strong administrative and organizational skills
- Can manage competing priorities, seasonal pressure, customer deadlines, permitting timelines, and active construction schedules.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both customers and crews.
- Strong attention to detail
- Enjoy solving problems and keeping projects moving.
Experience and Qualifications
· 5+ years of combined experience in construction, field coordination, and/or project management; an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will also be considered.
· Strong working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, site coordination, and the overall building process.
· Post-secondary education in construction, engineering technology, project management, or a related field is preferred.
· CET designation, PMP certification, or similar technical/project management credentials are considered assets.
· Experience coordinating field work, crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and multiple active projects is strongly preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
· Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, permitting processes, and construction compliance requirements is required
· Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, scheduling/project management tools, and ERP/CRM systems; Microsoft Project is required
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and follow projects through from planning to completion.
