The Job
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing outstanding guest service while supporting the successful execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events. This role includes setting up and breaking down event spaces, serving food and beverages in a professional manner, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, and ensuring all client requests are fulfilled promptly and efficiently.

What You'll Do
- Arrive on time and prepared for shift, signing in at least five minutes prior and collecting assigned keys
- Set up and tear down meeting rooms and event spaces according to Event Orders (EOs) and guest specifications
- Review daily EOs to ensure all requirements are accurately understood and completed prior to even start times.
- Greet and liaise with clients to confirm event details, timing and any last minute adjustments.
- Serve food and beverage – including breakfasts, coffee services, working lunches, dinners and breaks in a professional and courteous manner
- Conduct mid-event refreshes and room checks to maintain cleanliness, replenishment and guest satisfaction throughout service
- Monitor meetings and events in progress, proactively addressing any client or attendee needs
- Manage bar setup and closing procedures, including inventory counts, bar summaries, and accurate cash deposits.
- Clear and rest rooms promptly following each event, ensuring readiness for upcoming functions
- Maintain banquet rooms, service areas and storage spaces in a clean, organized and professional condition at all times
- Communicate effectively with the Banquet Captain and next shift to ensure smooth transitions and accurate event handovers.
- Complete assigned side duties and ensure all checklist items are performed daily.
- Monitor supply levels (Starbucks and pop supplies, candies, sternos, napkins, etc.) and communicate restocking needs to the Banquet Captain

- Safely handle, store and organize banquet equipment and inventory
- Remove garbage, recycling, and leftover materials from events and dispose of them in the designated areas
- Ensure all meeting rooms are locked and secure when not in use.
- Uphold hotel service standards by maintaining professionalism and minimizing noise or disruptions during active meetings.

Who We're Looking For
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year hospitality service experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
- Smart Serve Certified
- Ability to use sound judgement in day to day activities and decision making
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must be polite, courteous, and respectful
- Must be detailed oriented
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work as a team or independently
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
- Must be able to work mornings, days, evenings, late into the night, weekends and holidays
