Master Scheduler / Project Manager
MC3 Manufacturing Inc., Kingsville, ON. Pay based on experience.
The role
MC3 builds premium chip conveyors, filtration systems, and custom fabrication for industrial customers. The entire organization runs on one master schedule, from Sales and Estimating through Engineering, Purchasing, and Production, and this seat owns it. You build the schedule, keep it real, and hold the whole company to it.
The job lives in a tension, and you have to hold both sides of it: every commitment we make to a customer gets met, and the plant runs at maximum throughput doing it. Not one or the other. A schedule that keeps dates by leaving capacity on the table fails, and a full plant that misses ship dates fails. Your job is both, every week.
This is a highly interactive role. You’re in the middle of the whole operation, aligning every department to one plan and holding the organization to its cadence. You decide sequencing and priorities, you manage how much capacity we have and how fully we use it, and you keep lead times honest. And you make stuff happen: when a job jams, you unlock it; when a date is at risk, you expedite, re-sequence, or reset it before anyone has to ask. Expediting isn’t an exception in this seat, it’s a core skill.
And you’re the project manager on the jobs themselves. From order to ship, active jobs have one owner keeping the timeline, the milestones, and the customer commitments on track: you. Production builds it, Engineering designs it, but you’re the one making sure the whole job lands when we said it would.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll own the master production schedule end to end, building it, defending it, and adjusting it in real time as the plant’s reality changes.
- Build and maintain the master production schedule as the one plan the whole organization works to
- Set promise dates that are realistic when quoted and met when due, on every commitment
- Load the plant to its maximum sustainable output without putting commitments at risk
- Adjust shifts, staffing, and outsourcing ahead of demand, and keep quoted lead times aligned with real capacity
- Unlock jams and pull at-risk jobs back on track before the customer ever feels it
- Project-manage active jobs from order to ship: own the timeline, drive the milestones, coordinate across departments, and keep customers informed so job status is never a surprise
- Document and simplify the scheduling process, and keep raising the standard
What you bring
You’ve scheduled or planned in a job shop or high-mix environment before, and you understand what makes a date real.
- Experience scheduling or planning in a job shop or high-mix manufacturing environment; fabrication, machining, or custom equipment strongly preferred
- Understanding of plant capacity, sequencing, material and drawing readiness, and what makes a date achievable versus wishful
- Comfortable working in scheduling software and building your own tools; we run Flow, our own platform, and you’ll help make it better
- A strong communicator: you’ll work daily with Production, Sales, Estimating, Engineering, and Purchasing, and talk directly with customers about timelines
- A driver who expedites, escalates with a plan, flags risk early, and never waits to be asked
- Ownership of results, not just tasks
