Business Intelligence Analyst ( H)

Reporting to the IT Manager and working within the IT Project Management Office, the Business Intelligence Analyst will apply their expertise to play a crucial role in determining requirements and producing comprehensive reports and dashboards to support operational needs of all departments across the WRDSB. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and support of Business Intelligence solutions using tools such as Fabric, Power BI, SSRS, SQL, and Power Query.
The successful applicant for this Education Support Staff position, Level H ( $74,462-$ 85,666) , will work thirty-five (35) hours per week, twelve (12) months per year effective as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:

Assists in the designing, implementing and maintaining a vision and three-year plan related to WRDSB business intelligence systems as a component of the larger IT Service planning cycle.

Supports reporting for Learning Services, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, Security, Information Technology and other Board departments. A high degree of ingenuity, and the ability to make complex design and data modeling decisions, are essential to ensure accurate reporting outcomes.

Supports the life cycle and maintenance of business intelligence systems including availability, performance and security in accordance with agreed upon service level agreements.

Develops reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence solutions for Board departments for both internal and external publication.

Responsible for changes to production environments, including maintaining data, updating applications, creating roles, and maintaining security.

Proactively supports multiple complex technical projects for the optimization and continuous improvements of business intelligence systems.

Practices agile leadership by leading sprints for small to medium size projects, ensuring quick, reliable, and timely delivery of outcomes.

Collaborate with stakeholders across departments of WRDSB to gather and analyze requirements.

Design and develop scalable and efficient business intelligence (BI) solutions to provide actionable insights and support decision-making processes, using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Power Query.

Establish and maintain best practices for data visualization and report design.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting solutions.

Optimize report performance and user experience through effective design and configuration.

Follow change control and testing processes for modifications to reports and dashboards.

Analyze and resolve issues facing users, including technical support and troubleshooting of system errors and performance issues.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data sources are properly integrated, secured, and maintained.

Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance BI skills among end-users.

Stay updated with the latest features and capabilities of Power BI, AI, and other BI tools.

Qualifications:
-
3+ year degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

3+ years of proven experience in developing reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools including Power BI, SSRS, TSQL, and Power Query.

Power BI certification or equivalent is preferred.

Expected to stay up to date with current trends and technologies.
