Job Summary: The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling and organizing the maintenance, repair, installation, and removal of mechanical equipment at the TANCO Site at Bernic Lake, MB. They will develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program, technical manuals, and databases for the mine.
This is in onsite role that will require relocation to the communities surrounding the mine site which is situated 60kms North East of Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Ensure mechanical maintenance services to the Mill, Surface, and Chemical Plant are maximized to provide peak equipment availability.
- Identify and define maintenance improvement projects for approval.
- Execute projects to completion by utilizing and directing all necessary resources within the framework of Process Safety Management protocols.
- Define job scope, determine repair methods, obtain necessary resources (materials, services and personnel), obtain approvals, schedule the work, ensure feedback is entered into the maintenance database.
- Work with project engineers to plan and schedule small capital projects.
- Consult with respective personnel to develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Consult with respective personnel to develop and maintain all required maintenance technical manuals and databases.
- Maintain and audit maintenance procedures.
Safety/Environmental:
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and emergency response procedures through routine audits and follow up.
Technical Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of milling and chemical processes and the equipment and the maintenance needs of such equipment.
- Working knowledge of maintenance systems such as reliability-based maintenance techniques and planning/scheduling systems.
- Knowledge of the maintenance techniques required to provide a safe working environment.
- Should be conversant in the terminology and procedures of the relevant trades (IM, Pipefitter, etc.)
- Proven ability in the planning, scheduling, and working with multiple stakeholders
Education/Experience:
- Grade 12 diploma required.
- 3-5 years experience supervising in a production environment
