Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, confident, versatile and detail-oriented Florist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral design and customer service, creating beautiful arrangements for every day and various occasions. Must have at least 2 years of retail Floral Design experience in a floral shop or equivalent. Must be friendly and open and willing to learn new processes and ways of designing or doing anything in a retail flower shop setting. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently on their own.
Responsibilities
- Main responsibility would be to design and create floral arrangements such as everyday arrangements, special events, wedding bouquets, sympathy, centerpieces, and corsages in permanent flowers and fresh flowers to keep the cooler full of arrangements and fill orders as needed in an efficient manner.
-Processing fresh flowers and rehydrating flowers and greenery
- Assist customers in selecting the perfect flowers for their needs
- Maintain inventory of fresh flowers, plants, and supplies
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding and meeting customer preferences
- Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions
- Keep your floral station and the store clean and organized as well as flower bucket washing and other janitorial needs as a part of cleanliness of floral handling operations
- Handle cash transactions accurately -Some floral delivery as required on occasion
Skills and Experience
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and orders efficiently -A florist certificate is an asset
- Experience in retail sales and cashiering preferred
- Knowledge of fresh flower processing and care for plants and flowers
- Proficiency in POS systems for sales transactions
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with clients effectively
- Ability to handle cash transactions with accuracy is a must
- Proficient in English in speaking, reading and writing
- Sales skills to promote products and upsell to customers
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
