Purpose of the position
The position:
- Coordinates Council meetings (invitations, agendas, meeting packages, minutes, meeting follow up, and serves as recording secretary).

Provides peer support to other leaders and participates in review of policies, procedures and new initiatives requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

Develops a positive and proactive customer service philosophy throughout the department.

Prepares department-related letters, applications, reports, status updates, and requests (i.e. Active Dissemination & Routine Disclosure, Access to Information Act (ATIA), Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), Council Reports, petitions, etc.).

Provides advice, support, and guidance within area of expertise to staff and serves on interdepartmental project teams and Council Committees as required.

Ensures strong documentation, tracking and file maintenance controls are in place.

Represents the County on local committees or boards as requested.

Coordinates open houses and training sessions.

Supports Municipal Elections & Census Projects including electronic voting functions as well as recruiting, scheduling, training, releasing, and evaluating all election/census workers.
- Serves as Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) Coordinator and Commissioner of Oaths.

Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you will hold the following qualifications:
- Degree in Public Administration, Political Science or related field of study.
- 3 to 5 years related work experience. Supervisory experience is an asset.

Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act Training.

Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice, and/or Administrative Law is an asset.

Must be a Commissioner for Oaths, a Certified Assessment Review Board Clerk and/or a Subdivision Development Appeal Board Clerk.

Superior communication, public relations, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.

Experience in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams, Outlook) and eScribe meeting management software.
A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.

On site location: Lac La Biche, Alberta (must be willing to relocate)

Days/Hours: Based on 1820 hours annually with a 7 hour workday, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required in the evenings or weekends for emergency duties or special projects.

Salary range: $86,104.20 to $110,637.80 ($47.31 to $60.79 hourly)
