Role Overview
Jerry’s Transport Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support the day-to-day processing and management of payables across the business. This role is central to ensuring invoices are accurately entered, payments are processed on time, and vendor records are kept in good order.
This position is well suited to someone who is organized, methodical, and comfortable working at volume in a fast-paced operational environment. The Accounts Payable Clerk works closely with the Controller and internal teams to support accurate, timely financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice Processing & Data Entry
● Perform accurate and timely AP data entry, including invoices, stock receipts, and work orders
● Complete PO matching to verify invoices against purchase orders prior to processing
● Monitor invoice due dates and process payments within vendor terms
● Produce cheque runs in accordance with the payment schedule
Vendor Management & Statement Tracking
● Track vendor statements and follow up to obtain any missing documentation or information
● Maintain accurate and organized vendor records and correspondence
● Address invoice discrepancies in coordination with internal teams and vendors
Approvals & Internal Coordination
● Route invoices to the appropriate departments for review and approval
● Follow up on outstanding approvals to ensure payments are not delayed
● Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders to resolve processing issues
Filing & Administrative Support
● Maintain an accurate and up-to-date AP filing system, both physical and electronic
● Reconcile credit cards and support month-end close activities as required
● Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
● 1–3 years of accounts payable or accounting support experience
● Solid understanding of AP processes, including PO matching, invoice entry, and payment processing
● Proficient in data entry with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
● Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Truck Mate is an asset
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
