We are looking to hire a full-time shop foreman to join our growing team! Experience in a supervisory role as a journeyman or red seal welder/metal fabricator is an asset. Our busy steel fabricating shop requires a highly motivated individual who is familiar with structural and miscellaneous metal installation and fabrication work to oversee projects and ensure their successful completion. We fabricate and install structural and miscellaneous items such as columns, beams, stairs, canopies, railings, guardrails, gangways, docks, boats and other marine – virtually anything in the commercial, residential, industrial, and marine fields.
Reporting to our Operations Manager, you will work closely with our team to maintain project schedules for both fabrication and installation. You will also be a key representative of the company, primarily responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships throughout each of your project’s completion.
Project Execution:
· Manage project resources and maintain schedule
· Maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, consultants and subcontractors
· Confirm project costs, budget and purchase materials for projects
· Delegate and oversee work of other employees
· Ensure quality control standards are met
Relationship Management:
· Be the main point of contact for customers throughout project lifecycle
· Resolve disputes and issues proactively
· 5 years’ experience in metal fabrication
· Project management experience
· Able to read structural, architectural and shop drawings
· Detail oriented, organized
· Able to manage multiple jobs at the same time
· Happy working for a small company and having to wear many hats depending on the projects at hand!

Duties:
- Supervise on and off site jobs as needed, occasionally may include evening and overnight work on contracted jobs.
- Read shop and project drawings
- Fabricate and weld steel and aluminum
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, grind, and shape metal
- Rig and move heavy materials as needed
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with codes and standards
Qualifications:
- Confined space entry
- Fall protection
- WHMIS
-Class 5 drivers license
-Current CWB welder qualifications an asset
-Red Seal in metal fabrication or welding an asset
- CWB Welding Supervisor Certification an asset
