SKILLED LABORER - CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT

MOONIE AND SONS MODULAR LTD.

Moonie and Sons Modular Ltd. is looking for a reliable, motivated Skilled Laborer to join our team. We specialize in the installation and renovation of modular buildings, transforming units into offices, daycares, community centers, and specialized facilities.

We are looking for someone who already has a solid construction foundation and doesn't see themselves as just a laborer. In this role, you will be an active participant in the build, working alongside highly experienced carpenters to execute complex transformations. This is a position for someone who has the skills to contribute immediately but is eager to learn the specialized details of our niche industry to eventually work independently.

POSITION DUTIES

Active Project Contribution: Move beyond basic site support to assist in all phases of modular transformation and renovation.

Tool Proficiency: Safe and efficient use of various hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.

Site Efficiency: Assist with the setup and organized maintenance of work areas to keep projects moving smoothly.

Team and Solo Work: Ability to work effectively within a team environment and handle individual tasks with minimal supervision.

Material Coordination: Manage and organize materials on-site to ensure the team has what they need for each stage of the build.

Skill Development: Take direction from lead carpenters to master new techniques in framing, finishing, and specialized installations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year of construction or renovation experience.

Previous experience operating a variety of power tools and equipment.

Self-Starter Attitude: Ability to anticipate the next step of a project and take initiative.

Reliability: Punctual, with a strong work ethic and a professional attitude.

Physical Capability: Physically capable of heavy lifting and working in varying weather conditions.

Transportation: Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.

JOB DETAILS

Stability: Full-time, permanent positions. We provide consistent year-round work with no seasonal layoffs or lack of work half-days.

Opportunities: Frequent overtime available.

Optional Travel: Out-of-town work is occasionally available for those interested. This is optional and includes paid travel time and LOA (Living Out Allowance)

Commuting: Carpool opportunities available for local sites.

REQUIREMENTS

Must currently live in the Lower Mainland, BC.

Legally eligible to work in Canada.
