Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our team. This role involves transforming residential, commercial, and industrial spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and restoration, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints, operate various hand and power tools, and deliver high-quality results. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing both technical skills and excellent customer service abilities to ensure client satisfaction.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications.
Perform restoration work on existing surfaces, including stripping old paint and refinishing surfaces to restore their appearance.
Use rigging techniques to access high or hard-to-reach areas safely.
Operate hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and caulking guns as well as power tools like drills and sanders.
Execute carpentry tasks related to framing or minor repairs as needed for project completion.
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly while adhering to safety standards.
Follow safety protocols at all times when working with industrial equipment or in hazardous environments.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
Knowledge of restoration techniques and ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately.
Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to painting and carpentry tasks.
Strong understanding of caulking procedures and surface preparation methods.
Ability to work efficiently with good time management skills while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members effectively.
Experience with rigging techniques for elevated work areas is a plus.
Construction experience is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
Valid driver’s license is advantageous for project mobility.
