Aimez-vous travailler avec les adolescents? Si tel est le cas, cette opportunite est pour vous. Nous agissons un éducateur confirmé pour travailler les relevés à deux maisons de soins pour les adolescents à Montréal (Dorval), Québec.

Responsabilités

Appliquez les plans d’interventions pour les clients
Fournissez le renforcement positif pour le comportement des clients
Organisez et coordonnez des activités pour les clients
Observez, analysez, et entrez les comportements des clients
Attendez et participez activement aux rencontres d'équipe
Obtemperez aux les habitudes préventives et sécuritaires
Supervisez les clients à l'intérieur et l'extérieur du foyer, y compris pendant tous les sorties
Exécutez les protocols d’urgence, l’intervention de crise et l’intervention non-violent
Enseignez les compétences personnelles a les clients

Vos qualifications et compétences

Un minimum de 5 ans expérience de travailler avec les enfants et les adolescents dans un même environnement
Études postsecondaires dans soins à l'enfance et la jeunesse, éducation spécialisée, ou un baccalauréat en psychopedagogie, psychologie, criminologie, travail social, ou un autre diplôme pertinent
Possédez un permis de conduire valide et sans restrictions
Possédez une maîtrise de l’anglais - la connaissance de le français ou de l’Inuktitut est un atout
La capacité d'adaptation et de bien travailler avec les clients de différents milieux
La sensibilité et la prise de conscience des besoins des autres
La maturité et une attitude positive
La capacité de bien collaborer avec une équipe
La capacité de travailler indépendamment; un esprit d’initiative
La ténacité, l'indépendance, et l’assurance
Une compréhension pratique de Microsoft Office Suite
Les candidates retenus sont responsables de fournir une vérification d'antécédents criminels récente, une vérification relative au secteur vulnérable, un test tuberculinique cutané, un dossier d’immunisation actualisé, et un dossier de conduite impeccable

Job Description

Are you passionate about working with youth? If so, then this amazing opportunity is for you. We are seeking an experienced Relief Educator (Educateur) / Youth Worker to work relief at two different youth care homes in Montreal (Dorval), Quebec.

Duties

Apply intervention plans for clients.
Provide positive reinforcement for client behaviour.
Organize and coordinate activities for the clients.
Observe, analyze, and record client behaviours.
Attend and participate in team meetings.
Comply with safety and prevention measures.
Supervise clients inside and outside the centre, including during any outings the clients attend.
Implementing emergency protocols, crisis interventions and non-violent physical interventions as needed.
Teach life skills to clients.

Your Qualifications & Skills

A minimum of 5 years of experience working with children and youth within a similar environment.
Post-secondary education in child and youth care or special care counselling, or a bachelor’s degree in psychoeducation, psychology, criminology, social work, or another relevant degree or diploma.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
English fluency is required, and knowledge of French or Inuktitut would be a strong asset.
Able to adapt and work well with clients from different cultural backgrounds.
Sensitive and understanding of the needs of others.
Mature with a strong positive attitude.
Able to collaborate well within a team.
Ability to work independently; a self-starter.
Resilience, independence, and confidence.
Working understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Successful candidates are responsible for providing a recent clear criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening, tuberculosis skin test, up-to-date immunization record, and a clear driver’s abstract.
